Your Stay at Woodbury Lodge:

  • Food: delicious meals made from locally-sourced ingredients are prepared by our trained chefs. Please let us know about any specific dietary requirements you may have when you make your booking.
  • Beverages: all beverages such as tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages are included in our rates. We have a fully stocked bar in our lounge area.
  • Housekeeping: rooms are tidied twice daily while our guests are out on their game drives to avoid disruption during your stay.
  • First aid: all guides and management staff have at least level 1 first aid training. The office has a first aid kit should any small emergencies occur. For any serious medical issues, emergency services and medical practitioners are a 40 minute drive away.
  • Dress code: it is advisable to wear loose fitting and light garments in summer, although you should take extra layers for early morning and late afternoon game drives when it can become a lot cooler. Warm layers are definitely required in winter, although many days are still mild. Sensible and comfortable shoes are recommended. Neutral-coloured garments are advisable in the bush as to not risk alarming the animals. Sun hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are strongly advised, especially in summer.
  • Accessories: a good pair of binoculars is recommended, and these may also be borrowed from guide. Game drives provide excellent photographic opportunities and your camera will come in handy should yo wish to bring one.
  • Weather: the Albany region of the Eastern Cape is temperate with summer conditions (October – March) reaching temperatures of around 36C maximum. Winter (April-September) brings many sunny days but evenings can be cool. Rainfall is predominantly in the summer months. It is important to note that the weather can be very unpredictable on a given day, so always come prepared with extra layers.
