Clothing - Dress code and clothing is informal. It is advisable to wear loose fitting and light garments in summer, layering clothing in winter in order to keep warm. Sensible and comfortable shoes are important in the rough terrain. A warm wind breaker jacket or jersey for game drives even in summer is a necessity. Neutral coloured garments are advisable in the bush as to not alarm animals. Sun hats, sunscreen, sunglasses and a swimming costume are required in summer as one will be exposed to the sun.
Equipment - A good pair of binoculars is recommended. We do however have a pair for rental from the front office at an additional fee. Good photographs can be taken on game drives, so a camera is highly recommended to capture those incredible game sightings that are encountered on game drives. Capturing memories is always a must.
Weather - The region is temperate with summer conditions (October – March) reaching temperatures of 36C. Winter (April-September) brings many sunny days but evenings can be cool. Rain falls mainly in the summer months and umbrellas are available in the main lodge if needed. It is also important to note that the weather can be very unpredictable on a given day, so always come prepared. Weather cards pertaining to the following day are placed in rooms each evening.
